Local chef raises £300 for cancer charity Life Kitchen

Local chef Mark Owens has raised £300 for the charity, Life Kitchen.

Life Kitchen is a charity that creates meals for cancer patients who struggle to taste food after undergoing chemotherapy.

Owens from Washington contacted well-known chefs from all over the UK to get signed cookbooks, jackets and aprons from the best in the business. Owens created an online auction for the memorabilia and raised £300 for Life Kitchen.

The money raised will go towards opening a kitchen in Washington to provide cooking classes to patients.

In the future, Owens is hoping to be involved in further fundraising in order to support a cause that is close to his heart.
