Newcastle flash mob turns Monument red for International Women’s Day

Women covered Grey’s Monument in 1,000 red pom-poms to raise awareness of period poverty in the region for International Women’s Day (8 March).

Around 100 women also took part in a flash mob choir, performing an original song composed by community musician Bethany Elen Coyle to promote period positivity.  The event was organised by Women in Newcastle and Newcastle City Council.
