The mother of Bradley Lowery commemorated what would’ve been her sons seventh birthday with a skydive.
Gemma Lowery took to Shotton Airfield, to do her skydive.
Lowery’s skydive was all in good cause as money was raised by generous contributors through the Justgiving she set up. So far, Lowery managed to raise £6,808 – which smashes her original target of £1,000.
Before her jump, Lowery was required to train for an hour. Her jump commenced at 3:00pm. She was the first skydiver to jump from the plane.
Upon completing her skydive Lowery claimed: “Im not scared of dying anymore.”
Gemma chose to skydive because she wanted her sons birthday to be memorable.
Bradley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at just 18 months old. The cancer soon became terminal. Lowery passed away on July 7 last year when he was only six years old. Since his tragic death, The Bradley Lowery Foundation was set up to raise money for other children like Bradley.
Gemma’s family and friends who also work closely with her for The Bradley Lowery foundation were there to provide moral support. Also present was Lowery’s husband, Carl, and Rachel Calvert, girlfriend of Bournemouth AFC footballer Jermain Defoe.
Lowery hopes to pursue more fundraising activities in the future.
