The Aftermath of #BeyoncéAtSOL

By Ethan Edwards & Zoe Toase

The highly anticipated first stop on the european leg of The Formation World Tour has been and gone, and everyone is still reeling from seeing the legendary Beyoncé play in their hometown. It was an experience that is done no justice by watching clips alone.

Over 51,000 adoring fans flocked to the Stadium and witnessed the extravagant 2-hour visual work of art which takes the crown for he most colourful and exiting show to ever be played at the Stadium.

Even before Beyoncé started performing, there was an air of mystery and awe among the crowd as they gazed up at the pink monolith that slowly revolved on the stage. As Beyoncé appeared on stage and the main event of the show began, the electronic centrepiece displayed a visual feast of beautiful videos of flowers and then a close-up of Beyoncé, signalling the beginning of a spectacular show (as shown in the video above).

Not only did she dust through flawless renditions of songs from her new album Lemonade, but she played some of her classics to the delight of long time fans, such as ‘Crazy In Love‘, ‘Run The World‘ (Shown above), ‘Halo‘, and the Destiny’s Child hit ‘Survivor‘. Along with the stunning display of lights and fireworks, there was also a catwalk of water that Beyoncé and co. danced and splashed around in, in a similar fashion to the Florence + The Machine performance on Ellen.

After the concert finished, fans took to twitter to show their appreciation and their thoughts on the concert:

We hope you enjoyed your night if you did get to see Beyoncé, it was an amazing experience and one that will be remembered for years to come.
