With fans already queuing at the Stadium of Light, here’s everything you need to know before Queen Bey hits the stage

After months of anticipation, which saw her drop a surprise visual album and trigger off speculation about her marriage with Jay Z, Beyoncé is set to kick off the European leg of her Formation world tour at the Stadium of Light tonight.

The home of the Black cats will host one of the biggest music stars on the planet, with fans already queuing in front of the stadium.

The gig, which sold out in less than 24 hours back in February, is expected to have a massive audience of more than 50,000 people.

Stadium doors will open at 4.30 pm and concert-goers are urged to arrive early, as entry points are expected to be extremely busy.

Fans are advised to read the details on their ticket and stadium map, which was sent to them with their tickets, and then access the stadium via the relevant entry point.

Entry points around the stadium are clearly signposted and correspond to individual tickets.

Food and drink is not allowed into the venue, but an extensive range of food and beverage options will be available within the external courtyards , including Domino’s pizza, street food marquees, and gin bars.

More than 2,000 members of staff will be on site, making sure the huge crowd is well looked after.

Roads immediately surrounding the stadium will be closed to all traffic on the day and there are no vehicle pick up or drop off areas on, or near to the site.

Additional Metro and bus services are in place.
