Ex England Football international, David Beckham, celebrated his 41st birthday on May 2, but he had no idea that he was celebrating elsewhere in a Newcastle Upon Tyne home.
Susan McIver from Newcastle, first found her Beckham cardboard cut out 10 years ago after he was abandoned next to to the bins where she used to work at the time.
Mrs McIver said: “I got him from work. I went to empty out the bins one day and there he was, standing by the skip. So I left him for a few days and then he went back and he was still there so I’ve claimed him and I fetched him home with me!”
After clapping eyes on him in his youth days at Manchester United Football Club, which she is a big fan of tempting her to bring David home, where he has stayed in her living room ever since.
Her David was decorated with a balloon and banner where she carried out her plan for David’s big day: “We have played football in the garden, we’ve just had a nice bit of birthday cake and a nice cup of tea. So now, we’re going to have a rest and watch the television.”
