LISTEN: Eamonn Holmes pays tribute to agony aunt Denise Robertson

Sunderland came out to say goodbye to one of the North East’s best loved television icons – Denise Robertson.

It is thought that about 500 mourners gathered at Sunderland Minster to pay tribute to Denise Robertson.

The 83-year-old, who was born in East Boldon and lived most of her life in Sunderland and Seaham, was a familiar face to viewers of ITV’s This Morning.

She had been a part of the show since it began back in 1988.

Her co-stars on This Morning Holly Willougby, Phillip Schofield, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes were all at the service yesterday afternoon in Sunderland.

Eamonn Holmes spoke to SR News’ Sophie Dishman.
