Eight aspiring young men have successfully booked a major name for their Good Friday event in March.
‘wAFF’, a world renowned DJ who is a resident in Ibiza’s super-clubs and a strong favourite amongst the underground crowd, will play a three hour long set at Independent, Sunderland, on March 25th.
Nathan Fryatt, Aarron Johnson, Carlton Johnson, Ben Carter, Loui Brown, Joel Henderson, Joe Dunn and Christian Usher are the eight forces behind HAZE, which over it’s two years has shaped up to become the biggest underground and techno night in Sunderland.
DJ and one eighth of the HAZE team, Aarron Johnson, 28, said: “For any event to bring in a booking such as wAFF is an achievement in its self. As much as we’re excited, the buzz around the city is overwhelming and is sure to be up there with the best of them.”
Head of promotions, Nathan Fryatt, 22, of Fulwell, explained: “He’s a character as well as a great DJ and that always helps selling out events. Also many people have seen him in Ibiza at DC10 and Space so the fact they get the chance to see him on home soil, they’re jumping at it.”
The independent dance promoters, insist wAFF is only the first of many renowned names they will bring to Wearside in 2016.
Aarron said: “From chasing artists to play for us when we started off two years ago, it’s a nice feeling when massive artists from across the globe are approaching us to come play here in Sunderland.
“We have a handful of festivals we are involved in this summer so it looks like a busy year for all of us”.
The success of HAZE has been recognised nationwide when they were acknowledged on Radio 1 last Christmas and the future of the club night promises to keep looking bright for the talent behind HAZE.
2016 sees HAZE play at Independent nightclub every two weeks up until June, in which the same month will see Haze become partners with Parklife Festival in Manchester on June 11th.
‘wAFF’ will headline HAZE on Good Friday at 10pm in Independent’s main room.
