Northumbria Police will be appearing on a children’s TV programme on CBBC.
The TV show, called All Over The Workplace, will air in a 30 minute episode this morning (Tuesday, March 15) at 10.50am.
Film crews arrived at force headquarters in Ponteland before Christmas to produce the programme.
The series will see a number of children try their hand at their dream job, with this episode focusing on a career within the police.
Schoolgirls Kyra, 11, and Abigail, 10 will wear a police uniform and experience a number of roles across the force.
The girls were joined by presenter Alex Riley, as they spent time helping out with the motor patrols, the dog unit and the mounted section.
Inspector Dave Little from Northumbria Police’s Operations Department, said: “We were proud to be part of this programme and it was great fun having Kyra and Abigail here with us for the week.
“They were really enthusiastic about the role and I’m sure they will make fantastic police officers if they decide to pursue it as a career when they grow up.”
A CBBC spokesperson added: “Northumbria Police were great to work with on this project.
“The access CBBC was given was instrumental in giving the girls, and our audience, a fully rounded insight into the different career opportunities there are within the police force, hopefully the programme has inspired others to consider it as a career.”
