History seems to repeat itself at the Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, with the Then and Now exhibition becoming one of the biggest attractions.

The basic premise of the free exhibition is that it is a smaller art gallery. The attraction features paintings of places in Sunderland throughout history.

The catch with this is that members of the public will be able to see what the areas in the photos look like now for free.

It provides an interesting look at how Sunderland had changed throughout time.

The exhibition has been open since December 19, and it will remain open until April 3.
