X Factor’s head honcho Simon Cowell did an amazing gesture, surprising everyone.

Touched by Kian Musgrove’s story, Cowell phoned Kian’s mother, Kat Musgrove, with an offer of £25k towards his treatment. Simon offered to fly Kian and his mum to America to receive specialist treatment.

The X Factor judge offered to help after seeing the fundraising page Caring for Kian, which was set up to raise £500,000 to send them to the US.

Ms Musgrove said: “I can’t believe it, I have tears streaming down my face.”

Kian, from Newbiggin Hall, Newcastle, is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Newcastle’s Great North Children’s Hospital, after being hit with cancer for the second time.

The youngster was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma in October 2013 and developed 27 different tumour.

Cowell added his support by tweeting “Kian Musgrove is a truly brave young boy. I have just spoken to his mum”; “Let’s help get him to NYC for the life-saving treatment he needs. #CaringForKian #GetKianToSimon
