A series of fun events and games were staged at the University of Sunderland today to showcase its extra curricular activities.
The “re-freshers fair” hosted an array of inflatables and soft play games free for students at St Peter’s Campus.
Leaflets and giveaways were handed out to students in a bid to recruit more members for clubs and societies.
Sports and Societies assistant Megan Blair describes the day as “great for the students to see what we [University of Sunderland] do”.
She added: “The Institute of Sport usually plays host to the University’s annual Freshers Fair in September, but after the Christmas break numbers tend to dwindle, so we decided to raise awareness on our activities.”
The fair also raised awareness of Urban Active, a campaign which encourages students and staff to participate more in sport.
Spokesperson for Urban Active Programme Coordinator said: “With the help of the student activators and volunteers, I believe, we have created an exciting, fun and innovative programme of activities and events that are centred around the students and gets them active.”
