Metro services are halted again between Sunderland and East Boldon, as windy weather conditions have caused an obstruction on the over-head line between the two stations.
Tyne and Wear Metro say that the obstruction is caused by “plastic being blown onto the overhead line”.
However, they have reassured Metro customers that Network Rail engineers are on their way to get the Metros running again.
