A Stargazing Live event has brought success to the Sunderland Astronomical Society with the addition of new members.
The astronomy group held Stargazing Live events on the back of BBC Two’s Stargazing shows.
The event, which was held across two days, on January 15 and January 16, saw the general public join astronomers from across the North East for a fun night of assorted astronomical treats at the Cygnus Observatory at theWWT Washington Wetlands Centre.
Participants at the event were able to use telescopes, including the new “all access” mount.
Interactive presentations, workshops and a Q&A session featured over the weekend event.
SR News’ Sophie Dishman spoke to Paul and Chris from the Sunderland Astronomical Society about the event.
