Six people have been rescued by Sunderland Coastguards after the group got ‘stranded’ on Roker Pier due to high tides.
No one is injured.
The incident happened at about 2pm this afternoon.
According to a SR News source the walkers were removed from the Pier through an internal underground tunnel after they got ‘stranded’.
