A bottle full of water from the Drummond puddle has raised £65,900 for charity on Ebay.

The bids for the item ended on Saturday, January 9, and the money raised is set to go to a charity within Cumbria.

The item comes after #DrummondPuddleWatch went viral last Wednesday (January 6), when about 20,000 people were watching a live video stream of the puddle in Newcastle.

The seller of the water bottle said on Ebay: “This is a nearly full 600ml bottle of genuine Drummond Puddle Watch water from Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Own your piece of the worlds most famous puddle.”

The seller added: “Due to so much interest, I have decided to donate 90 per cent of the final auction value and gift aid directly to the Cumbria Community Foundation who are helping people deal with the recent UK floods.
