Police are appealing for information after two high value burglaries in Sunderland.
The first burglary happened between 11am on Friday, November 27 and 2pm on Sunday, November 29 at an address in Lydford Court in Newbottle in Houghton.
Jewellery was stolen during the burglary including a gold locket; a three colour gold bracelet with a flat smooth flexible band; a gold ring with a large black oval opal stone; a ladies Russian gold oval face watch with a thin black leather strap; a long silver necklace with different shaped links; two men’s silver ORIS pocket watches. Amerian and Canadian dollars were also stolen.
Between 6.45pm on Friday, December 18 and 8.15pm on Friday, December 18, a property in Graylands in Rickleton was burgled.
The following items were stolen a mikimoto pearl necklace with a Faberge egg pendant; an OMEGA watch serial number 121307469, the watch is 18 carot yellow cold with four pearl drop diamonds on it; a gold neccklace; and 18 carot gold necklace with a pearl drop diamond pendant; an 18 carot gold bracelet iwth eight charms including a bell, pair of football boots, heart containing rings and a ball containing a footballer inside.Two bottles of Estee Lauder lotion and a passport were also stolen.
Officers are carrying out enquiries into both burglaries and are appealing for witnesses.
Secondhand jewellers, and anyone offered jewellery similar to that described for sale, are also being asked to be vigilant and contact police, if they suspect the property is stolen.
