South Shields Football Club Chairman in bid for MP seat

Geoff Thompson, chairman of South Shields Football Club, wants to emulate the club’s success, off the football pitch by putting himself forward as an independent candidate for MP of South Shields and Whitburn.

Since taking over SSFC, Mr Thompson has been instrumental in the club’s recent success and he wants to do more to “extend the reach of what’s happened at the football club” to improve the town generally.

He explains how his experience and teamwork skills have been key to what he has achieved at the football club so far and how he can transfer those skills to the world of Politics. Also standing for election in the South Shields constituency are:

Emma Lewell-Buck – Labour

Sarah McKeown – Green Party

Oni Oviri – Conservative

William Shepherd – Liberal Democrats

Glenn Thompson – Brexit Party
