Sunderland fan pictured with trousers down has season ticket suspended

The Sunderland teenager who was imaged urinating in the stands at the Stadium of Light has been handed a ban by Sunderland Football Club.

A 17-year-old Sunderland fan was caught with his trousers down to his ankles in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Reading as he urinated in the stands.

An image of the teenager was spread over social media suggesting that the fan had defecated on the seat – which was confirmed to be untrue by Northumbria Police as he was escorted out the stadium.

The 17-year-old has apologised for his actions. However, blames it all on too much to drink before the game.

He said: “I am apologetic for it, I am sorry. I didn’t defecate on the seat, that’s the God’s honest truth. I can’t recall any of it.

I think I must have been so drunk I thought I was on the toilet. That’s the only thing I can think of. I wouldn’t have done it for no reason.”

He added that he had drunk 12 bottles of lager and six pints of cider before the game, with only two chocolates from his Christmas advent calender lining his stomach.

Not only has the teen from County Durham been shamed online, he has now received a ban from his beloved football club and a suspension from his workplace.

Sunderland football fan forum ‘Ready to Go’ suggested that a fan sat next to the teen was ‘sick’ due to his actions, although officials have said that a lot of the details about the incident have been exaggerated .

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman siad: “Further to media reports reporting a fan defecated on his seat during the Sunderland v Reading match on Saturday, police would like to clarify that this was not the case.”
