Police are currently dealing with a man on a roof of Gateshead College.
Officers received a report at 1pm that the man was on the roof of the car park of the college.
Access to the area is blocked to allow police deal with the incident safely.
Police are advising any members of the public who turn up at the scene, they will be asked to leave.
Officers are negotiating with the man in order to bring him down from the roof and bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
