36-year-old man dies in Redheugh Bridge crash

A man has died after a crash on the Redhuegh Bridge in Newcastle.

The 36-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision between two vehicles on Wednesday, May 10.

The bridge, which is now re-opened was closed while police gathered evidence and cleared the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 53-year-old man is being treated in hospital for a serious leg injury, although his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
