This category took into account the design, production, content, overall impact, and user engagement for SR News.

Here’s the full shortlist for this category.

As well as this, our resident student photographer and deputy editor Ryan Lim has been shortlisted for Best Student Photographer, for his work over the past few months taking pictures at events in and around Sunderland.

You can see some of his work here.

This category recognises the best student photographers in the country, who provide their student publications with memorable, high-quality images showing student life and events.

Here’s the full shortlist for Ryan’s category!

Our editor of SRNews, Sophie Dishman, has been shortlisted for Best Reporter.

Her nomination portfolio included three of her exclusive interviews – one with Sandi Thom and two on Bradley Lowery which can be seen here and here.

This category rewards consistently exceptional news reporting from an individual at a student publication.

It took into account the range of stories, impact on the intended audience and the quality of journalism Sophie produced.

Here’s the full shortlist for Sophie’s category!

Sophie has also been shortlisted for the Outstanding Commitment award which aims to reward those members of publications who have shown outstanding commitment to their title over the last year, going above and beyond the call of duty.

She spends most of her time up in the MediaHub so it’s hardly surprising!

Here’s the full shortlist for Sophie’s second category.

Congratulations to all shortlisted!

The SPA awards will take place at the University of Leeds on May 6-7, with talks from industry professionals, lectures and workshops.

Here at SRNews we’d love to thank everyone that voted, we couldn’t be more thrilled!
