North East food blogger, Laura Wilson is supporting the latest study from the Institute of Economic Affairs, which has revealed that healthy food is cheaper than junk food.
The study compared the price per pound for similar items, such as peanuts with chocolate glazed peanuts or whole milk with flavoured milkshake drinks, and found that you can eat healthily for less money.
The report also found that the recommendation of eating five portions of fruit and vegetables can be achieved by spending as little as 30p.
Food blogger, Laura Wilson, said: “It didn’t surprise us at all that healthy eating is cheaper than junk food. Most shops now have a good range of healthier options.”
