The Tyne Theatre is playing host to a night with Alan Shearer and tickets are selling fast.
The event is expected to be a special night for the people attending and, for an additional fee, fans can get a photograph with the former Newcastle number nine and a signed photograph. The venue is able to house over 1,000 people and the event has already gained major interest from the public, according to staff at the theatre.
A spokesperson from the Tyne Theatre has said: “A lot of people have been enquiring about tickets but they are going fast and people should get them now to avoid disappointment.”
The Gosforth-born star started his career in the North East when he signed on for Wallsend Boys Club, before being picked up by top division side Southampton. Shearer moved to Blackburn Rovers where he had a very successful time, winning the premier league title in 1995.
Shearer finally returned home after finishing as top scorer in Euro 96, joining Newcastle United for a then world record fee of £15 million. Shearer is still Newcastle’s all-time top goalscorer and also has the Premier League all-time record with 260 goals. Shearer finished his career in 2006 and, following his retirement, has taken up a regular role on BBC’s Match of The Day as a pundit.
Shearer said: “I’m really looking forward to the night and sharing my footballing experiences with the fans.”
The prices for the event start at £35.00 for the Gallery and £65.00 for the Stalls/Grand Circle. VIP seating ranges from £100.00 – £199.00 for VIP and offers exclusive afters with Shearer.
