Gin, guts & bewitching bots: night of your LIFE

Fancy spending the night dissecting, drinking and dancing with the dead?

The Life Science Centre is opening its doors after dark for a spooktacular adult-only Halloween party.

‘Halloween Late: Bewitching Bots’ is an 18+ event and takes place at the award-winning science complex in Newcastle on Friday 26th October.

Sheela Bell, the events manager at Life, said: “For one night only, we’re transforming Life into an immersive Halloween experience that will be unlike anything people have been to before.”

Revellers will get the chance to don lab coats to dissect real organs, take part in a Crystal Maze-inspired laser maze and decorate Day of the Dead sugar skulls.

The night is inspired by the current exhibition, ‘Robots: Then and Now’, developed at the London Science Museum and revellers will have a chance to view before it leaves the North East a few weeks after.

The exhibition features lifelike humanoids and an evil T-800 from the film ‘Terminator Salvation’. Elsewhere in the centre, the 4D Motion Ride will be showing the animated adventure ‘Frankenstein: Escape the Monster’ and the planetarium will be screening the birth of artificial intelligence.

There will also be a spooky menu with veggie and vegan options available to pre-book, a UV Gin Bar and the chance to get your pint pulled by a robot.

Sheela said: “Halloween is all about scary fun. Fancy dress is heavily encouraged – there might be a few treats in store for the best-dressed and we’ll have some special effect make-up artists on-hand to help give your costumes that killer edge.

Tickets for ‘Halloween Late: Bewitching Bots’ are £8, or £12 with food.

Tickets for ‘Robots: Hopes and Fears’ are priced at £3. There’s also the option to pay a supplement to visit the ‘Robots – then and now’ exhibition on the same days as the panel discussion.
