53-year-old man assaulted in Sunderland city centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 53-year-old man was assaulted in Sunderland city centre.

The assault happened at 9pm on Saturday, June 4, in Sinatras bar in Holmeside.

The man was assaulted by two men causing him to suffer a broken leg.

He is currently in hospital for treatment.

The first offender is described as male, dark skinned or mixed race, aged mid 30s – early 40s.

He is also described as having a bald head, of slim to medium build and 5ft 7 inches tall, wearing a red/cherry coloured puffa jacket, washed out denim jeans and trainers.

The second offender is described as male, white, wearing a white shirt with a blue or black checked pattern.

Officers are carrying out enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.
