Newcastle’s Northern Pride Festival is set to grace the Town Moor in July 2016.
The three day event will celebrate LGBT pride across the North East from July 15 and 17. A wide variety of events have been planned.
On Friday, July 15, the fairground will be open in the Town Moor and the 5km fun run will take place.
Saturday, July 16, will have the fairground and the main stage music, which is being headlined by the boyband 5ive.
The last day of the Big Pride Weekend will have 90’s music star Heather Small closing the festival.
Mark Nichols, chairman of Northern Pride, said: “There still is a lot of work to do around social equality: you know being able to hold hands and walk down Northumberland Street without somebody making a comment about it.
“If we educate the youth of today, we can eliminate the prejudice of tomorrow.”
