Police investigating counterfeit money used in Sunderland have released an image of the man they would like to trace.
Counterfeit Scottish £20 notes were used at four different premises throughout Sunderland on Monday, April 18.
Officers carrying out the investigation are keen to speak to the man pictured to get in contact, as he is believed to have been in the area at the time and may be able to help with enquiries.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Victoria Ford-Stubbs said: “We would continue to urge people to be vigilant to counterfeit money, in particular businesses and retailers when cash transactions are made.
“Detection pens and ultra-violet devices should be used when notes are given and any notes which show to be counterfeit should not be accepted.”
