Vandals have caused around £500 of damage to a community garden in west Newcastle.
The ‘bike garden’, as it is known locally, was targeted last weekend. A polytunnel was destroyed among other damage at the site in Nuns Moor Park.
The community project is run by charity The Time Exchange, which encourages residents to share skills on a voluntary basis.
The garden was accessed between 5pm Friday, April 8, and midday Monday, April 11. Northumbria Police are appealing for anyone who has any information to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 530 11/04/16.
