Appeal after racial abuse on the Metro

Police are appealing for information after a man was racially abused on the Metro.

Between 6.10pm and 6.20pm on Saturday, February 27, a 30-year-old man was racially abused on a Metro travelling from Monument to South Shields.

The victim later left the train and reported the incident to police.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries into the abuse and have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

He was in the area at the time of the incident and could be able to help police with their enquiries.

The man, or anyone who knows him, should contact police on 101 quoting reference 979 27/03/16.
