Man bitten by dog in Gateshead

Police are appealing for information after a man was bitten by a dog in Gateshead.

At 4pm on Thursday, March 31, we received a report that a 31-year-old man was bitten in the face by a small Jack Russell type dog while on Cobden Street.

The victim told police that the black and white coloured dog was on a lead and with it’s owner but that when he bent down to stroke the dog it jumped up and bit his lip.

The victim received treatment to his lip by ambulance staff.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 772 31/03/16.
