Police have established that the alleged shooting in Gateshead that was reported yesterday was instead filming taking place.
A section of the A19 northbound was closed yesterday (March 20) and again this morning to allow police to investigate a report that they received at 6:09pm. A member of the public had contacted police to say that they had witnessed a firearm discharge from a black vehicle, aimed at a blue vehicle near Follingsby.
However, police have traced and spoken to people involved in the incident and established that they were using camera equipment to film the cars driving.
The A194 is now fully re-opened and there are no further closures expected.
