Appeal after window smashed at house in Hebburn

Police are appealing for information after a window was smashed at a house in Hebburn yesterday.

Police were called to an address in Somerset Road in Hebburn at around 5.50am.

On arrival, police found a window at a house had been smashed.

A man in his 40s was found with facial injuries.

It is believed the injuries were caused by a noxious substance and he has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident to establish the circumstance and trace the offenders.

Officers are in the area to speak to residents who may be concerned and offer reassurance.
