Appeal after man assaulted in Gateshead

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Gateshead.

Around 6:50pm on Monday, March 14, a 42-year-old man became involved in an altercation with two men in Napier Road, Swalwell.

The two men then assaulted the victim hitting him with sticks.

The victim suffered head injuries and a broken arm as a result of the attack. He remains in hospital receiving treatment.

The two offenders are described as being:

Man one – white, in his late 30s, of slim build and around 5ft 8ins tall. He had mid length brown hair and spoke with a Scottish accent.

Man two – white, in his late 30s, of stocky build and around 5ft 10ins tall. He had a receding / balding hair line.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 928 14/03/16.
