Officers from Alnwick Neighbourhood Policing team carried out a warrant this morning in Alnwick to target those in suspicion of supplying illegal drugs.
A quantity of Class A and B drugs were recovered and a 25-year-old man was arrested and remains in police custody.
The activity is part of an ongoing intelligence-led initiative which would disrupt criminal activity, protect vulnerable people and make the town an even safer place to live and work.
Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Truscott said: “There’s no place for drug-use or supply in Alnwick, and we will take positive action against those suspected of being involved.
“Drugs cause misery in communities and the people targeting the vulnerable and most at risk with drugs supply will be identified and dealt with.
“While we don’t have a particular issue with drugs in the town, we will always act on information received to ensure it remains a safe place to live.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 101.
