Author visits primary school children for World Book Day

Simon Bartram, author of Bob Man on the Moon has been visiting schools across Sunderland as part of the Council’s celebrations for World Book Day.

World Book Day is held annually in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the first Thursday in March.

The day promotes reading and is a charity based event. Registered as a charity, World Book Day does not raise funds for itself but supports Book Aid International and Readathon as its nominated charities.

The author hosted an interactive workshop at Sunderland City Centre Library, where he was joined by a Year 4 primary school class dressed up as characters from their favourite book.

SR News went along to see what was happening.
