Heaton Park Rape: Police release further information

Police reveal the exact location where a young woman was raped in Heaton Park, Newcastle, and are appealing for further information from the public.

The victim was walking alone in Heaton Park in a woodland area, when she was attacked in the late evening on February 21, between 10:50pm to 11:10pm, on a path nearby to Sambuca restaurant and opposite the bowling green.

Northumbria Police describes the suspect as a 6ft tall, white male, of stocky build, who has short dark hair. The victim describes the attacker as having distinctively ‘miscoloured’ and ‘wonky’ teeth.

The suspect was believed to be wearing a hooded dark top with dark jeans on the evening of the attack.

It is also believed that the attacker fled the attack after towards Blue Bell pub.

Police are continuing to check CCTV footage within the area and are currently patrolling the surrounding area to reassure the public.

Newcastle Superintendent David Felton said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are continuing to appeal to anyone who thinks they have any information that could help us identify this man to ring us straight away.”

Northumbria Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact them on 101.
