Summer of Sport competition, run by Miller Homes, is giving North East sports clubs the chance to receive a cash boost of up to £1000.

This is the fourth year in a row the opportunity has been provided.

After three successful years, the household business has decided to offer the sports clubs the opportunity to receive a prize of £500 and for the first time a club will win £1000.

To enter the competition, the clubs have to say why their club deserves the cash prize, how they will spend it and why they will do this within 200 words.

Andrew Somerville, the Miller Homes North East Sales manager, said this: “Over the last few years, we’ve been delighted with the success of our Summer of Sport competition and particularly the impact receiving the prize money has had on the winning clubs.

“We have been really impressed with the diversity and standard of entries from those clubs who’ve taken part previously.

“As a result we will be extending our support this year for those in our communities who are providing opportunities for sport, education and development by awarding an overall prize of £1,000 to one of our six regional winners.

“We strongly encourage anyone with an affiliation to a sports team or club to have a go and wish all entrants the very best of luck.”

Details on this opportunity will be given to sports clubs across the region.

Sports leaders and managers can pick up entry forms from Miller Homes marketing suites across the country.

Closing date for entries is Wednesday, August 31, giving applicants plenty of time to prepare a winning application.
