The Farmers’ Market returns this year to Market Square on Friday February 27.
The market will be held on the fourth Friday of each month between 9am and 3pm.
Based on an age-old concept, a farmers’s market sells locally produced goods to local people with stallholders having grown, reared, cooked, brewed or baked the good themselves.
Regular stalls, as well as a mix of different stallholders such as Sweet Tooth Bakery, Rise Artisan Bakehouse, Yorkshire Dales Cheese, Durham Vension & Game, JR Jams and Broom Mill Farm, will be there each month.
Tracey, from the Broom Mill Farm Butchers Deli and Cafe, said: “We’ve been at the market before. The home-grown produce is a unique selling point.
“We see a large age range of people and it’s nice to sell direct to the customers. From the farmers’ market we then get a large following attending the cafe.”
