South Tyneside cyclists urged to take advantage of free bike marking event

Police 2

South Tyneside cyclists are being urged to take advantage of a free bike marking event to deter thieves.

This will take place at St Margaret’s Church, Harton Nook, Junction of Prince Edward Road and Centenary Avenue, Thursday February 12 at 2pm – 4pm.

Not only will bikes be marked, details, such as make, model, colour and serial number will be recorded and saved into a database.

If a bike is then lost or stolen, there’s a greater chance it can be returned.

Crime prevention advice will also be given out plus a number of bike locks which are available for those getting their cycles marked.#####
