Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is opening a new £2m state-of-the-art centre in Newcastle as part of her charity to help young people in the North East.
The new centre will be built in the middle of Newcastle, with the aim to help disadvantaged young people who want the opportunity to work, but cannot find it. Cheryl said that simply making donations “Wasn’t fulfilling enough. I always had an eye on opening a centre”.
Cheryl has committed to raising £2m under the Cheryl’s Trust, to help fund the operation and will be hosting fundraising activities across the area in the upcoming months.
Cheryl’s Trust was set up in 2011 under the Prince’s Trust. Cheryl said: “A few years ago, I had a really, really strong need to give back.”
So far the foundation has raised a lot of money, including £3,000 that Cheryl’s fans raised for her as a 30th birthday present.
