Police appeal for witnesses after drive-through theft

Police are appealing for witnesses after cash was stolen from the till of a Sunderland fast food restaurant.

Money was stolen through one of the drive through windows of KFC at the Galleries in Washington on Wednesday, April 23.

The man police are looking for has been described as about 5ft 6in tall, of medium build and wearing a hooded top witht the hood up.

He had a scarf over his face and was wearing a white baseball cap with three stripes on the peak under his hood.

He was also riding a bike and carrying a carrier bag.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about the theft to contact them in 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 1371 23/04/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police are currently running Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling oportunist theives and burglars.
