Appeal after Hylton Road burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Sunderland.

At 3.30am on Saturday April 19, police received information that two men had forced entry to a shop at Hylton Road and then tried to gain access to an upstairs flat.

They pushed a knife under the door to the flat but left after failing to get in. The occupants were not injured in the incident and nothing was stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact them, on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 249 19/04/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.#####
