A fundraiser event is to be held at the stadium of light on Saturday, August 2 in aid of three North East children’s charities.

The three charities are Team George, Bradley Lowery’s Fight and the Bubble Foundation in aid of Finlay Kennedy.

The charity night has been set up by Monica Turnbull, 24, a reporter from the Sunderland Echo to raise awareness for the three charities.

Monica said: “I chose to bring these three causes together because I’ve covered them a lot at work separately.

“People fundraise a lot for them individually but I thought it would be nice to bring three of them together and highlight the different conditions that children can suffer from at the same time.”

The three charities deal with completely different illnesses and the event is to raise awareness of each individual case.

Team George was set up in aid of four-year-old George Bertie Johnson, who has an undiagnosed gastro system condition.

George needs to travel to the USA for tests to try and diagnose his condition which donations have funded, however if he gets a diagnosis he will then need further donations to pay for the treatment. So far the charity has raised over £30,000.

Bradley Lowery’s Fight is a charity that was set up in aid of two-year-old Bradley who has a form of cancer called neuroblastoma. The charity are trying to raise £500,000 to send Bradley to the USA for relapse treatment which is not available in the UK. So far the charity has raised £146,000.

The Bubble Foundation is based at the Great North Children’s Hospital at the RVI. It funds research into immunology, which is vital to two-year-old Finlay, who has an undiagnosed immune system condition.

The night will include a drinks reception, a three-course meal and a performance by 2012 X Factor contestant Carolynne Pool as well as much more.

There are lots of impressive prizes to be won including a bathroom suite provided by Wearside Plumbing Supplies, jewellery from Collinson’s Jewellers and signed SAFC merchandise.

Tickets cost £25 (plus £1 admin fee if people sign up using PayPal) and can be bought here , by telephone 07841 875 057 or by emailing Monica.Turnbull@hotmail.co.uk.
