BBC Breakfast’s Stephanie McGovern is coming to Sunderland for a special talk next week.
Stephanie McGovern, who is a business presenter talking to millions across the UK, is coming to the University of Sunderland to share her experiences and answer questions on Thursday, February 27.
She will discuss her career experiences and challenges in the media industry during the hour-long talk.
The journalist who also works for BBC 5Live and BBC Radio 4 will talk about her own journey, the lessons she’s learned, what life is really like working on country’s biggest Breakfast show, and what she thinks is going on in the business world at the moment.
Middlesbrough-born Stephanie, has also worked as a lead producer on the One, Six and Ten O’Clock news bulletins for the BBC.
She said: “It’s a real treat for me to come back to the North East and talk to students about my job.
“My career in the media has been a fun one over the last 10 years and I want the students to know that there is nothing stopping them from doing the same. Hopefully they’ll also get a flavour of what life’s like working on network news – the good and the bad.
“I’m also looking forward to seeing the work the University of Sunderland is doing for myself as I have heard lots of good things from my friends and family who have studied there.”
The Masterclass will take place on Thursday, February 27, at 1pm at the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter’s, Prospect Building, room 009.
