An amateur drama group is looking to give Sunderland families an alternative of high-priced shows, without breaking the bank.
The Maldo Productions group is based in Seaham and the publicity officer for the company Sarah Taylor said: “In today’s society with money worries due to the recession, we aim to put on top class entertainment at great value prices.
“The ticket revenue will be used for bigger and better performances in the future. It will help nurture and develop talent, and entertain the region while encouraging self-confidence and -esteem in our members.
“The show, which the cast has been rehearsing for since November, has been produced for all families to enjoy and is being described as: “A musical/panto combo for all ages.’ A Pusical or Manto if you prefer.”
The group itself ranges from children as young as seven, through to members in their mid twenties and it is accepting new members.
Snow White is the groups latest offering to their audience and will be performed at Dawdon Miners Welfare Hall, Seaham, on Saturday March 1 at 2pm and 6:30pm, and Sunday March 2 at 2pm.
The hope is that all the shows will sell out, with a maximum capacity for each show of 200 audience members.
The money raised from the show will be used to help fund further productions.
Tickets for the shows are £4 per adult and £3 for children under 12.
