The annual Sunderland International Airshow will be once again held over three days from July 25th to July 27th.
The Sunderland Festival of Running, including the Sunderland City 10k and half marathon, is on May 4th.
And the city’s Christmas lights will be switched on on November 13th.
Sunderland Live’s chief operating officer said: “2013 was an absolutely fantastic year for Sunderland and really set the standard.
“We have seized the opportunity to expand the city’s events calendar even further and we will shortly be announcing a new range of events that are being developed.”
It is the first full year Sunderland Live will be organising events in the city, after being set up in April last year.
Councillor Paul Watson, Sunderland City Council leader, said: “Last year, by creating Sunderland Live we took a new approach to build on the city’s emerging national reputation for events.
“By doing this we did not only protect but also gave scope to grow the city’s programme of free family friendly events while reducing the cost to the council.
“This is particularly welcome at a time when public finances are increasingly under pressure.”
